The 24-year-old, Town's record signing when he joined from Kidderminster Harriers, has found his options limited under Steven Pressley.

He was given a chance to shine with a start in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy against Sheffield United two weeks ago but was substituted early in the second half.

Matt has had a troubled time since his arrival at Highbury, his career at Fleetwood plagued by injury.

The forward missed the entire of the last campaign with a cruciate ligament injury.

He was granted a one-year extension to his contract in the summer but has so far been a bit part player.

Fleetwood have, in recent weeks, moved to strengthen their hand in attacking areas bringing in Everton's David Henen and Reading's Tariqe Fosu on loan.

Ash Hunter and Declan McManus also appear to be ahead of Matt in the pecking order under Pressley, who also has Jamie Proctor and David Ball at his disposal
