Armand Gnanduillet celebrates scoring his 12th goal of the season
Here's how Pool's players rated:
Looked to be struggling with an injury in the first half but made an absolutely crucial late stop to stop Southend going 3-1 up. A little nervy early on but always offered an outlet out wide and came close with two well-hit efforts from range. Typically solid in the centre of Pools defence, winning the vast majority of his aerial duels and causing danger at the other end. Almost nonchalant at times in the manner he brought the ball out from the back. Demonstrated his quality. Solid as ever but maybe not as attack-minded as he could have been. Brought off on the hour mark. Demonstrated his quality on the ball from set-piece deliveries and delivered some crunching challenges. Brought an element of calmness to proceedings amid all the chaos around him, although a couple of his passes went astray. Provided some dangerous deliveries into the Southend box and came close with an early effort from range. Helped get his side up the pitch and for the second game running he had a say in both of Pools goals. Used his pace to good effect and always looked to beat his man, but his crossing was hit and miss. Smashed home his 12th goal of the season in clinical fashion and made a nuisance of himself all afternoon. For Anderton, 60'
Saw plenty of the ball down the flanks but too many of his crosses failed to mind a teammate. For Pritchard, 60'
Always busy and came close with a near-post effort. Booked for simulation after going down in the box. For Delfouneso, 81'
Didnt really have enough time on the pitch to make an impact, but he must be miffed to be on the bench recently.
