Sheffield Football Club celebrate but Steels lose

SHEFFIELD FC bounced back from their FA Trophy exit to come from behind to win 3-2 at Gresley FC in the Evo-Stik Division One South.

Chris Adam gave Club a third minute lead lifting the ball over the keeper. Gresley hit back to lead 2-1 at the break with goals from Phil Massingham and Marc Goodfellow. However, a mix-up in defence allowed Aaron Martin in for the equaliser midway through the second half before Shaq McKenzie finished off a good move to earn Sheffield the points.

Struggling Stocksbridge Park Steels slipped to an eighth league game without a win, going down 1-0 at Witton Albion. Ashley Stott scored the second-half winner following a goalmouth scramble that sent Steels tumbling to the bottom of the Premier Division.

Frickley Athletic picked up their first league win of the season coming from behind at the break at to beat Ilkeston 2-1 with both goals coming from Gavin Allott. Worksop Town beat Hednesford Town 4-0 to seal a first away win of the season.

In the NCEL, Worsbrough Bridge Athletic beat AFC Emley 1-0. Craig Goodyear hit the winner, while Worksop Parramore were beaten 2-1 at home by Tadcaster Albion.
