FLEETWOOD Town boss Micky Mellon has distanced himself from speculation linking him with the vacant manager’s job at Championship strugglers Bristol City.
Mellon, who was a popular player at Ashton Gate, says he has unfinished business at Fleetwood.
Mellon’s name has been mentioned as a potential outsider to take charge at City.
The most successful manager in the history of Fleetwood said: “It is flattering to be linked with the job and I had some good years there, but I am fully focused on the job at Fleetwood.
“My only priority is getting the club into the Football League.”
City have been looking for a new boss since the sacking of Keith Millen in the wake of the 5-0 hammering at Blackpool last Saturday.
Doncaster recently raided Blue Square Bet Premier club Wrexham for Dean Saunders as their boss, a manager with a CV that does not compare with that of Mellon.
He guided Fleetwood to the play-offs last season and has steered them to second spot in the table this year going into tomorrow’s home clash with Forest Green Rovers.
