AFC FYLDE continue their preparations for the new season with a visit to Bamber Bridge FC tonight (kick-off 7.30pm).

Manager Dave Challinor will be looking for his side to keep possession far better than they did in their most recent friendly, a 3-0 home reverse at the hands of Guiseley.

Challinor said: “We knew it would be our toughest game of pre-season, and they showed why they will be one of the favourites for promotion to the Blue Square Premier.

“That was our hardest games for some time, but we will learn from that and know the standard that is required this season, if that is anything to go by.

“They kept possession well throughout, but it was a good work-out for the squad, as everyone played a part in the game.

“We just have to look at this game as a learning curve.

“With just (under) two weeks to go to the start of the season we will be ready for the big kick-off.”

n IN the North West Counties League tonight, AFC Blackpool are at home to Padiham, while Squires Gate travel to Barnoldswick Town.
