AFC Fylde, back at the summit of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League table, take on a side struggling at the other end of the standings when they visit Witton Albion on Tuesday night.

Manager Dave Challinor will be telling his players to ignore Witton’s 20th place in the table to ensure that their position of pre-eminence is not compromised.

Challinor insisted after the 2-1 win at Whitby on Saturday: “We need to re-focus and turn up there and re-produce.

“If we do that, we’re more than capable of coming away with a positive result.”

Challinor is demanding his side to kill sides off once they are on top

He said: “We need to be more clinical and ruthless.

“Players need to start taking responsibility and for us to be successful this season, our conversion rate has to improve.”

On Saturday, Witton’s position in the the league worsened when they lost 1-0 at home to Blyth Spartans, AFC Fylde’s victims in the FA Cup.
