Budd were 3-0 winners over Alliance premier division rivals Broomheads Estate Agency at the Lancashire FA’s County Ground. They defeated the Alliance runners-up with two goals by Ric Seear, his second a penalty, and Tarren Moxon’s late strike.

Broomheads keeper Callum Kirkland made the first of many good saves from Moxon after his mazy run. But Kirkland was beaten on 26 minutes, when Brett Dawson broke down the left and smashed his shot goalwards. Kirkland saved but the rebound fell for Seear to score and it remained 1-0 until half-time.Broomheads' Kenny Cram had a shot saved, and at the other end Seear was poised to head his second goal from Moxon's cross but a full-stretch Kirkland reached the ball first. Marco Cobb's delightful pass created another Budd chance but Seear could not convert Moxon's cross. The pressure eventually paid off as Dawson was brought down in the box and man of the match Seear netted his and Budd's second. Moxon completed the scoring with a beautiful curled shot as Budd lifted the cup for the first time. Budd go in search of a cup double on Sunday, when they contest the Alliance’s premier division cup final against champions Additions at Fleetwood Town FC.
