Leeds United defender Lewie Coyle returns to Fleetwood Town on loanCoyle won both the players’ player of the year and Junior Cod Army player of the year awards for his form in a season-long loan at Fleetwood last season.The 22-year-old right-back was poised to battle it out for a spot in Leeds’ Championship squad when he left Town with his double award and the praise of Fleetwood’s then boss John Sheridan. Sheridan dubbed Coyle the player of his reign as the full-back impressed both in training and on the pitch to help Town to League One safety.Sheridan has since made way for Joey Barton and a change of head coach at Leeds has signalled a return to Highbury for Coyle.Marcelo Bielsa took over from Paul Heckingbottom in the summer and has allowed Coyle to rejoin Town for the rest of 2018, with no guarantee for first-team football at Elland Road.And Coyle says it was Barton's eagerness to bring him back to Highbury and his enjoyable stint at the club that made the decision to return an easy one.He said: "I spoke with Joey a couple of times in the off-season. He just said about his keenness to get me back at the club and that was a massive influence." I know what the club is about, and hearing about the plans for this season it all came together and made sense for me to come back to the club."And Coyle, who will start pre-season training with the Town squad today, says he can already feel a positive buzz around the squad during a summer of change.He said: "I'm delighted (to be back). As soon as I was aware of the interest again after last season I jumped at the chance to get back to this club and hopefully try and kick on again."Joey Barton is the new manager and that excites me. Just the general feel around the club, just from stuff I have heard from the lads already and the general buzz around the place from the short space of time that I have been here."I'm fully looking forward to getting started and seeing what is ahead."He is looking forward to linking up with his ex-Leeds team-mate and Town keeper Alex Cairns and company once again.Speaking about the advantages of a second loan spell, he said: "I don't think I will find it quite as hard this time to fit in with the lads, but to even first time around I knew the likes of Cairnsy, which always made it easier and the lads took to me very well.
