Kyle's thirsty for more after ending goal drought

Fleetwood midfielder Kyle Dempsey was pleased to break his goal duck and is targeting more goals in the final 10 games of the season.

Dempsey reduced the deficit to 2-1 against Bolton on Saturday but his first goal for the club was in vain as the Trotters ultimately won 4-2.

But despite that defeat, Town remain second in League One ahead of tonight’s match at Walsall and the loanee was pleased to score for the first time since he netted for Huddersfield, ironically in another 4-2 defeat at Brentford in December 2015.

Dempsey said: “It has constantly been playing on my mind about getting a goal. I think I have found myself a bit further forward and that is when I have shown what I can actually do when I’m on the edge of the box.

“Hopefully I can get a few more by the end of the season ... but obviously with the three points too!

“Losing puts a dampener on the goal but the main thing we have to take from the game is that generally I think we were the better team.

“I don’t think we take any game easily in this league. We go into every game giving 100 per cent – whether it’s the bottom of the league or the top – and looking to get three points.”
