The 29-year-old, who made 35 appearances for the Seasiders last season after signing a short-term deal in October, has penned a new two-year deal.
Many had expected Spearing to move on with his contract due to expire at the end of this month, especially with the tough-tackling midfielder appearing to say his goodbyes following the end of Pool’s last game of the season at Rotherham United.
But the former Liverpool man has pledged his future to the club ahead of the new League One campaign.
Spearing said: "I’m delighted to sign for an extra two years.
"We were talking all over the summer and with my wedding coming up and a busy time sorting that, the gaffer was very kind to let me get married first and then come down and discuss things.
“The main thing I wanted to do this season is to get back in straight away, as soon as the lads came in, and get a full pre-season under my belt and kick-on from there.”
The club are still waiting to hear from Kelvin Mellor, Dolly Menga, Clark Robertson and Kyle Vassell who will all become free agents when their contracts expire on July 1.
Robertson is expected to move to newly promoted Championship side Rotherham United, although another club in the same division is also thought to be in the frame.
Vassell had been linked with Pool’s League One rivals Southend United but it is understood they have moved on to other targets.
