The 19-year-old suffered the injury during the first half of the Coasters' victory at Gainsborough Trinity last weekend.

Wilson originally joined AFC Fylde on loan in November but had his deal extended in December until the end of the campaign.

Gary Bowyer said: “He’s going to be out for a couple of weeks which is disappointing because he’s been getting plenty of games there.

“He’s been in getting treatment so fingers crossed for him and we wish him a speedy recovery."

When asked if his loan deal is likely to be cut short, Bowyer replied: “It’ll just have to depend on the extent of his injury.”

AFC Fylde manager Dave Challinor added: “We are looking at four to six weeks with Macauley which probably rules him out for the rest of the campaign.

"He has been to see Blackpool’s physio too so we will wait and see on his situation now."
