Grezza’s delight at Jordan deal

Jordan was a mainstay in the Fleetwood backline last season, and helped the Club to achieve the fourth best defence in League One.

Jordan, a former Burnley team-mate of Alexander, made the switch from left back to centre half last season, making up for an injury hit first season at Highbury and becoming a near ever-present in Town’s squad.

Alexander said: “Stevie’s been with us a couple of seasons now and probably didn’t play as much during the first year.

“He had a fantastic season last year when we moved him to centre half. We had the fourth best defence in League One and he played a major part in that.

“He gives us great experience and balance as a left footed centre half, and we know he can play left back too so it was great to get him signed on.

“I knew of the character he was off the pitch when he first joined us, and he is always looking on the bright side of life.

“He’s a good professional who looks after himself really well, and is a fantastic player for the squad to be around as well.

“He’s played at the top level in the past and is still motivated to play well for us, so he was a great one to get signed on again.”

Town are hoping to seal a deal this week with Jordan’s centre-half partner Nathan Pond.

Town have also revealed the signing of former Birmingham midefielder Kieran Dunbar.

Dunbar will team up with Barry Nicholson’s development squad.

He follows in the footsteps of Declan McManus, Amari’i Bell, Vamara Sanogo and Eddie Dsane, who have all put pen to paper on deals.

Manager Graham Alexander said: “We had Kieran in on trial towards the end of last season. He’s a midfielder who can play in two or three different positions.

“He’s just a natural footballer. All the coaching staff liked what they saw when he played in our development games.”
