The Dons are 14th in the League One table while Town are flying high in fourth spot.

Town built a four-point cushion on Bradford with a 2-1 comeback win on Tuesday.

Grant says Fleetwood are heading to stadium:mk after beating the ‘best team in the league’ and stretching their unbeaten league run to 15 games.

There may be an element of revenge of the cards with the Dons the only side to have beaten Town at home in the league this season with a 4-1 victory back in September.

Back then Uwe Rosler’s friend, Karl Robinson, was at the helm but the Dons have since replaced.

Grant said: “From watching the first half, the best team in the league, they are the best team in the league.

“For us to come back, come from behind and beat them it shows a real toughness and a real mental and physical attitude that we have got.

“MK Dons will be a very tough game; their league position does not reflect the quality in the squad but we are going there to do a job.

“We are going into the MK Dons game full of confidence and there is a real belief that we can do something.

“If we keep doing what we are doing there is no reason why we can’t.

“I think deep down there will be (an element of revenge).

“They beat us at home convincingly; we want to go there on the back of 15 games unbeaten and just keep the run going.

“It is not about us going there thinking we are going to win, it is about keeping the run going.

“I really do believe that we are good enough to beat anyone in this league as we have shown.”

Conor McLaughlin recovered from an ankle knock that kept him out of the 0-0 draw with Rochdale to set up the winner against Bradford as his cross from a short corner was diverted home by the Bantams’ Rory McArdle.

Grant was full of praise for the Northern Ireland international and says that sprinkle of luck is what they will need if they are to challenge at the top of the table.

He said: “That is the bit of luck you need. If you want to do anything in the season, whether you are at the bottom or challenging, you need that little bit of luck on your side.

“I thought Conor was outstanding; first half he was trying to make things happen for us, second half he was on the front foot.

“He caused a lot of problems for Bradford and he is a really important player. Conor has got that quality, Fleetwood are lucky to have him.”
