The Coasters are scoring for fun so far this summer and added another five to the seven they scored on Saturday in a 5-2 win against the Conference North side.

The watching support at Rivacre Park were treated to some sublime football from the Fylde front three of Michael Barnes, Danny Lloyd and Trialist Jamie Rainford with Lloyd completing a hat-trick before Rainford and substitute Aaron Fleming put the game to bed in the latter stages.

The first goal came after 16 minutes when Lloyd played a brilliant one-two with Barnes in the Motors’ box and the new signing slotted home under former Fylde number one, Zac Jones.

Carl Lune levelled proceedings half way through the first half but Fylde restored their lead six minutes later with Lloyd’s second - an expertly timed back heel from Rainford allowed Harry Winter the time to play a through ball into Lloyd’s path and he comfortably made it 2-1.

Three minutes after the break Lloyd completed his hat-trick heading in Barnes’ cross at the back post after another good move from The Coasters which tore open the Motors’ defence.

Soon after Rainford scored a deserved goal latching onto a weighted through ball from midfield to toe the ball under the onrushing keeper making it 4-1.

As both sides made seven substitutions each with half an hour left the game looked like it would end at that but Tom Rutter pulled one back for the home side nine minutes from time before Fleming restored Fylde’s three goal cushion on 87 minutes with a well taken goal from close range.

The Coasters’ next game is 3pm on Saturday at New Mills.
