The 27-year-old is in a rich vein of form, having scored five goals in his last five games. The latest of those goals came in Saturday’s 1-1 home draw against Shrewsbury Town, ensuring a point for the Seasiders in a game they ought to have won.Delfouneso has scored nine goals this season, which represents his most profitable campaign with the club, but he insists he can still do better.“There are positives to take but I always want to improve,” he said. “I think there’s a lot more to come.“I’m in a bit of form at the minute, so I don’t want the season to end.“There are certainly positives but I know I’ve got to give more to improve and hopefully I can take that on to next season.“Scoring goals is something I’ve always believed I can do and it’s something I should do.“No-one gets more frustrated with me than I do myself. I’m my biggest critic.“I believe I should be scoring more, but while there’s still one game to go I’m not looking to rest on what I’ve got now.“I’ve tended to score really good goals, so one thing I probably needed to add to my game was those scrappy goals.“I need to be in the six-yard box, making sure I’m there to get tap-ins and that sort of thing.“I wants to score the ugly goals – if you could call them that because every goal is a great goal.“I’ve got to keep making sure I make the right runs and get myself into the right areas.“I’ve got the utmost confidence and belief that if I get in the right position and get the chance I will score.”Delfouneso’s goal on Saturday was initially ruled out for offside only for the linesman’s decision to be overturned by referee Martin Coy following a couple of minutes of confusion.Delfouneo added: “The scoreboard says that it was a goal and that’s all that matters.“I’m not bothered about how it happened or what the debate was. The fact it counted was all that matters to me.“I scored and I headed over to celebrate near the linesman, who at that point had his flag down.“I was ready to go back to the halfway line, then all of a sudden he’s got his flag up, which was a bit bizarre.“Everyone headed over but I stayed out of it rather than getting involved in the arguments.“I’m glad it did count in the end as it helped us to get a point. But I think a point was the least we deserved.”
