Fit2Go aims to encourage children to lead a healthy lifestyle, take part in regular physical activity and to join in with local sports clubs and community programmes go improve their overall health and wellbeing.

On his healthy eating and fitness programme, Blackpol attacker Nathan said, “As a professional football player, I have to look after my body. I start the day by having a good breakfast, which will consist of eggs, cereal, fruit and orange juice.

“For lunch I’ll have chicken and pasta and I’ll have something similar like that for tea.

“It’s important to get your protein and carbohydrates in, especially at primary school age.

“We train everyday to keep ourselves fit for match-days. As Saturday showed (when Blackpool got a late winner against Hartlepool), we have to keep going until the last minute.”

Nathan thoroughly enjoyed his visit to the school in Church Street and added: “Seeing the children smile is brilliant. I enjoy giving back and the children asked some fantastic questions.

“It’s all about making good choice, whether it’s eating the right food or getting involved in regular exercise.”
