Blackpool are sitting pretty in a play-off spot with a 14-point haul from their opening seven games.

They have been the surprise package so far, with their 13 new signings gelling immediately and adapting seamlessly to their new division after their play-off triumph.

And Delfouneso, who scored in Tuesday’s 3-1 win at Plymouth, praised his team- mates ahead of their home clash with Oxford tomorrow.

He said: “I have played both (League One and Two), so I know what to expect. I know how tough the leagues are.

I think the boys who have not played in this league have adapted brilliantly, especially those who have not even played Football League before. I think they have done incredibly well.

“They are still learning as we go but so far they have done a terrific job.”

One of those new boys is Newcastle loan star Sean Longstaff, who has already netted four goals from midfield.

Like Delfouneso, Longstaff was back in action after injury on Tuesday night and now he is looking to build on themidweek win with another home victory.

Delfounseou said: “I was devastated to miss Saturday but the boys went to a very tough place and got a good result.

“I was happy to be back involved on Tuesday and I’m sure Longy will say the same.

“Three points and the first away win of the season– we have got to build on that.

“We said before the game that we wanted to build on a very good point on Saturday.

“We did that and I think we have got a big game at home this Saturday.

“We will always look to be strong at home and try to make it a fortress. We will prepare, recover and go again.”
