The striker joined Fleetwood Town yesterday on loan from Rotherham United for the rest of the season.

The 27-year-old comes in as a replacement for Ched Evans, who departed for Preston North End, also on loan until the end of the season.

Wiles (pictured) believes that the Millers loanee will fit in perfectly to how he wants his forward line to work.

“You couldn’t ask for much more,” he said.

“It’s a really exciting signing for the club. Everything that he is about is how we want to play.

“I think the competition now between him and Paddy (Madden) to play is exciting.

“They’re both going to push each other to be better daily.

“I think he brings his physicality and pace, he brings his desire and that’s how I want the front line to play.

“He ticks a lot of boxes, the recruitment team have done fantastic and we can’t wait to get him out on the pitch and scoring goals.”

Despite only being in temporary charge, Wiles is taking on all the responsibility that comes with a full-time role.

Though he is yet to go out and necessarily pick a player himself, Wiles supports the targets in place and is heavily involved in the recruitment process.

He said: “The recruitment team have been really open with me in terms of what they’re after and what signings they think are best.

“I’m fully behind their selection. I’ve seen clips of him, I obviously know him from previous and I think he just ticks so many boxes for the way we want to apply ourselves from the front.

“He gets his goals, and as we said earlier, he’s chomping at the bit to get going.

“It meets everything that we’re after moving forward. It’s important we have clear lines of communications.

“It’s important we listen to the opinions of others on players and I’m fully behind that.

“They came to me with Kyle and asked if I was happy and I was happy.

“I wanted to get him over the line and was desperate to get him in, playing, involved and understanding how we want to do things.

“It’s been great having the dialogue with the senior staff at the football club and I’ve been fully involved in all of the decisions going on at the club at the minute.”
