The left-back had a five- month, 11-game loan at the County Ground last season but rejoined parent club Birmingham in January after failing to get a game in the latter stages of his spell at Swindon.

Bell joined Fleetwood on a free in the summer and is eager to impress at his old club.

He said: “When I went to Swindon I played a few games.

“Towards the end of my loan I was out of the team but I enjoyed my time there.

“I’m looking forward to going back. I want to go there and play well as it is a club I played for.

“I just want to go there and show them my ability.”

Last season Swindon just missed out on promotion to the Championship after they were beaten 4-0 by Preston in the League One play-off final.

This term the Robins are battling it out in the bottom half of the league and Fleetwood could cut the gap on Luke Williams’ 15th-placed side to six points if they pick up the victory.

And Bell knows it has changed since his time at the club. He said: “In terms of the way they play, it still seems the same but obviously they have lost some of their better players from last season. I think things will have changed a little bit.”
