Fleetwood Town are going to Wembley - a 0-0 draw with York City enough to secure a place in the League Two play-off final.

Town rode their luck in the opening 45 minutes, absorbing waves of York pressure.

Michael Coulson could easily have pulled the Minstermen level in the tie, Chris Maxwell on the ball to deny the wide man.

Keith Lowe headed over for the visitors before Town created their first clear cut chance in injury time, Mark Roberts just unable to turn a loose ball home at the back post.

After the break York kept up their direct approach but Fleetwood came more into the game as the Minstermen stretched themselves looking for a goal.

Antoni Sarcevic produced their best chance, forcing a block from Nick Pope having made himself space under intense pressure from York’s defence.

Josh Morris could have sealed it at the death, one-on-one with Pope he couldn’t beat the York keeper.

But no matter.

Fleetwood will travel to the capital a week on Monday to face either Burton or Southend for a spot in League One.

Ticket details are expected to be announced on Saturday.
