Fleetwood Town midfielder Kyle Dempsey says reports linking him with a move away from Highbury are just “conspiracies” as he relishes life under new boss Joey Barton.

Dempsey, 22, was linked with moves to Championship clubs West Brom, Wigan Athletic and Bristol City earlier in the summer.
The midfielder joined Town on a three-year deal last summer for an undisclosed fee from Premier League side Huddersfield Town after a successful loan spell.
Fleetwood fought off a number of suitors to secure the Carlisle youth product’s signature and now the midfielder says his future is at Fleetwood as the club starts a new chapter under head-coach Barton.
Asked if he was staying, Dempsey said: “Yea. Obviously I have seen Twitter and stuff like that but they are just conspiracies.
“People can link you with anything on social media and as soon as a couple of people retweet it, it goes viral everywhere.
“But if you look at the length of my contract, I’m here until that ends and so that is all I can really say.”
Fending off interest in Dempsey would be a major coup for Barton as rumours surrounding the future of Cian Bolger refuse to go away.
The centre-half, 26, is being linked to Championship club Rotherham, but at last week’s fans’ forum Barton said that to the best of his knowledge no bids have been received for any of his players.
And Dempsey, who was part of the Town team that finished fourth and lost in the play-off semi-final to Bradford in 2016-17, also has positive vibes about the new season.
Dempsey and his team- mates are in their second week of pre-season training and he says the key to success is everyone working for each other, something he thinks is the case at Town as new boys Craig Morgan, Jason Holt and Eddie Clarke settle in.
Dempsey added: “We’ve had a couple of days working with the new boss and his new staff, and we are already getting a nice positive vibe about the season. A successful team is everyone working for each other and I just think it is going to be a really tight-knit group.
“I have got really strong positive thoughts about what is to come this season.”
