Fleetwood Town are understood to be close to completing a deal with a Premier League club for a left-sided centre half.
It is no secret Town have been actively looking to fill the void left by last term’s left-footed loan star Ben Davies.
Fleetwood boss Uwe Rosler told the Gazette he expected a replacement to be tied up this week and it is understand the man tasked with filling the boots of PNE player Davies will be Bournemouth defender Baily Cargill.
The 22-year-old is expected to join Town on a season long deal, with the Cherries given an option of a January recall.
It will not be the defender’s first loan spell in League One, he made 10 appearances during a loan spell with Gillingham last term.
He returned to Vitality Stadium to make his Premier League debut as a substitute in Cherries’ 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford in March.
And the England under-20 international, who has also served Coventry, Torquay and Welling on loan, skippered Cherries to victory in the third round of the FA Cup at Birmingham in January 2016.
