Town’s interim boss Simon Wiles said: “He’s a really exciting signing for the club, everything he’s about is the way we want to play as a team.

“Kyle brings physicality, pace, and has a real hunger and desire to succeed. He ticks a lot of boxes for me and the club at the moment.

“We can’t wait to get him out on the pitch and scoring goals.”

On a busy day at Highbury, Town also announced extended contracts for two of their younger players.

Shayden Morris has signed a new contract with the club, taking him through to the summer of 2023 with the club having an option for another year.

Also putting pen to paper is midfielder Carl Johnston, whose new deal runs until 2022 with the club again having the option of a 12-month extension.
