An Antoni Sarcevic double set Fleetwood Town the road to victory over Torquay United.

The midfielder, returning from injury, opened his Town account after 10 minutes, heading home from a Junior Brown cross.

And he quickly added to his account, a lovely backheel from Jeff Hughes setting his up 20 yards out, a low drive doubling Fleetwood’s lead.

Only Martin Rice in the Torquay goal prevented a first half rout, Stephen Schumacher, Jamille Matt and Jeff Hughes all with opportunities for the home side. a B

Just after the hour Fleetwood made it three, confusion in the Torquay box after a Brown corner, Matt bundling it into the goal.

Town stepped off the pace and gave away a late consolation, Elliott Benyon drilling one past Scott Davies from 20 yards.

But the game wasn’t over, Fleetwood immediately restoring their three goal lead, David Ball, on for Matt, with a selfless cross, Matty Blair scoring with his first touch of the match.
