Fleetwod Town striker McAleny targets a milestone season
The 25-year-old was Town’s highest profile signing when he joined them last summer after his release from Everton.
The forward had enjoyed a blistering loan spell at Town’s League One rivals Oxford United and got off to the perfect start with two goals on debut in the opening day win over Rotherham United.

He finally got his first 90 minutes in a Town shirt when John Sheridan had taken over from Uwe Rosler in February, playing the full gameas they drew 1-1 with MK Dons.
He also ended the season on a high by bagging the goal of the season gong for his strike in the 1-0 win at Oxford United that preserved Town’s League One status.
As he prepares for the first pre-season under new head coach, Joey Barton, the forward is eyeing up an injury-free campaign.

“No player wants to be sidelined through injury and I am just going to come back.
“We’ve got a good team and have a good go with the new manager and hopefully we can have a good season.”
However, McAleny says pre-season is no complete rest for the players as they prepare to come back on Monday raring to go.

“You go away with your family, your other half, have a good time, switch off for a few weeks but then get ready to come back in June.”
