Henen made 13 appearances for Steven Pressley’s side in a six-month loan spell but only found the net once in the 5-1 win against Swindon just days after first moving to Highbury in November.

His time at Fleetwood has been hindered by injury, and after recovering from a hamstring injury that saw him miss most of last month he came off the bench at Chesterfield and Swindon.

The Belgian was not in the squad for Town’s last two games and has returned to his Premier League club.

A Town spokesman said: “The club would like to thank David for his efforts and wish him all the best.”
