Lumley played a starring role for Pool on Saturday as they managed to add another point to their tally with a 0-0 draw at Stadium MK.

Blackpool were far from their best, something the 23-year-old accepts, but the draw saw them stretch their advantage over the League One relegation places to seven points with just eight games to play.

Gary Bowyer’s men now turn their focus to Good Friday, when they welcome Doncaster Rovers to Bloomfield Road, before making the short trip to Oldham Athletic on Easter Monday.

“It’s a good clean sheet away from home,” Lumley said. “We know we didn’t perform as well as we should have done. We can play much better than that.

“We didn’t create as much as we should have done either but we hit the bar late on. We should really score that.

“But it’s a hard place to come with the big pitch so 0-0 is not too bad.

“At the end of the day, we’ve got a clean sheet and a point away from home.

“We’ll take that heading into the two games over the Easter period where we will try and get a few more points.”

Lumley was in fine form on Saturday, making as many as five key saves to record yet another clean sheet.

The shutout was Blackpool’s third in four away games, and the sixth since Lumley joined the Seasiders on loan from QPR in January.

There was one slight cause for concern towards the end of Saturday’s game when Lumley spilled a cross, but the shot stopper refused to allow it to affect his confidence.

He added: “I’ve always been taught, because of my height, to come for crosses and if you don’t get there, then don’t worry about it and keep coming again.

“That’s a big part of my game and I enjoy doing it. The defenders always say it’s a relief for them.

“With the one at the end, it’s just one of them. It happens. You have to get on with it.

“I thought I did well overall as I had quite a few saves to make.

“There was one chance for them at close range in the second half. I saw it really late and I knew I just had to get whatever I could on it. Thankfully I managed to block it.

“The two centre backs in front of me did really well against Chuks Aneke, because he’s a good player.

“He held the ball up well but Clark (Robertson) and Curtis (Tilt) did really well. They did their jobs, so it’s not just me who has kept the clean sheet, it’s the whole team.”
