The 27-year-old enjoyed a fine month, finding the back of the net five times in as many games in League One.

He also netted his first ever league hat-trick in Blackpool's 5-0 demolition of Bradford City at the start of the month.

Delfouneso’s goals helped Blackpool pick up 13 points from their six games in the month of April, the Seasiders scoring 14 goals in the process.

He is joined on the shortlist by Charlton Athletic's Ben Amos, Charlie Mulgrew (Blackburn Rovers), Theo Robinson (Southend United) and Will Grigg and Michael Jacobs, both of Wigan Athletic.

This is the second gong Delfouneso has been nominated for, having previously missed out on the EFL's League One player of the month award for April.

He was beaten to the award by Wigan's Will Grigg, while Latics boss Paul Cook also took home the manager of the month award.

The winner will be decided by a public vote on the PFA's website, with voting closing at 8am on Thursday.
