Death of former England striker
Pointer, who was a member of the Burnley squad that shocked the football world by being crowned champions in 1959-60, died in a Blackpool care home at the age of 79.
With his shock of light-coloured hair, he earned the nickname The Blond Bomber for his goal-scoring exploits.

Pointer also played for Bury, Coventry and Portsmouth.
Former Clarets manager Harry Potts, who became Blackpool boss from 1973 to 1976, recruited Pointer to the Bloomfield Road coaching staff.
