The Seasiders go into tomorrow’s home game against Bradford just one point above the League One drop zone, having won one of their last six games.

While they were unlucky to lose to a late Swindon goal last weekend, former Luton striker Cullen has called on his team-mates to show their worth.

He said: “As professional footballers, everyone in the dressing room has to stand up and be counted. We have to take responsibility for what’s happening.

“We still have plenty of games to go to produce decent things.”

Blackpool face three games in eight days, with the Bantams clash followed by a huge match at Chesterfield on Tuesday night.

And Cullen is only too aware of how important the coming spell is for the Seasiders.

The 23-year-old said: “Every game we have coming up is big.

We need to get any many points on the board as we can as quickly as possible.

“We are into the later stages of the season now, so every point will be vital. We have to try and bring three in on Saturday.

“It’s a tight league and our form has been a case of picking up three or four good results and then hitting a blip. Hopefully we can turn the form around on Saturday.”

The 23-year-old, who arrived at Bloomfield Road in the summer, has seven goals to his name so far this season.

Despite a decent start, Cullen hasn’t found the net in his last seven outings.

And that’s something he’s very keen to change, saying: “I scored just before Christmas, then picked up an injury and missed a few games.

“To be honest I’ve just been trying to get my fitness back up.

“I’ve had a few chances and I want to start taking them again. Hopefully that will happen on Saturday.”
