Fleetwood Town couldn’t make the most of a dominant first half display as they were pegged back late on at the Richoh Arena.
Town should have been well ahead by the break, Antoni Sarcevic, Gareth Evans and Jamie Proctor all missing good chances.
They did take the lead, with help from the home side, Andrew Webster heading an Evans cross into his own net.
The hosts turned up the pressure after the break, Fleetwood weathering a Sky Blue storm.
That looked to have fizzled out when the home side grabbed an equaliser 10 minutes from time.
A lazy ball from the right wasn’t picked up by Fleetwood, Gary Nadine heading down and substititute Simeon Jackson bundled over the line.
Town from that point were clinging on, Coventry pressing hard for a winner, a brace of late free kicks their best opportunity, Town’s wall playing a crucial role as time ran out for the home side.
