Pitch conditions are said to be on the heavy side already and the forecast for Saturday is not promising.

However, manager Dave Challinor is preparing normally as though the fixture will get the go-ahead.

He said: “The pitch at Buxton is not conducive to fast, flowing football - rain and even snow is forecast.

“If it does rain hard, it could be that the game is doubtful, but we are training and preparing as though the match will be on.”

AFC Fylde will be looking to continue their unbeaten record so far in 2014 and maintain a play-off place against a side that is currently in 16th place in the table.

The Coasters will be without Harry Winter, who completes his suspension.

Tom Eckersley is a long-term casualty, which has led to Challinor exploring the market for a potential defender replacement to fill the gap.

One deal that will not go through is an AFC Fylde move for Alfreton’s Darran Kempson.

Challinor had been hoping to do a deal with the Conference side for the well-travelled defender who is due to move back from the Midlands to the Blackpool area.

However, that could be revived at a later date.

Midfielder Josh Davies has signed for Buxton from Worksop.

AFC Fylde’s Daniel Bunce has been nominated along with four other Evo-Stik League employees for a groundsman of the year award.

Bunce, who took over the post at the start of the season, faces a challenge from groundsmen at Loughborough Dynamo, Stocksbridge Park Steels, Trafford and Witton Albion.

AFC Blackpool are at home to Runcorn Town in the North West Counties League on Saturday, while Squires Gate visit Runcorn Linnets.
