The pair, both defenders and regular starters for Blackpool's youth team, will look to benefit from first-team professional football with the Evo Stik Northern Premier side.

Richards and Williams signed for the Liverpool-based club on Tuesday on work experience deals.

Bowyer says it is important Blackpool's up-and-coming youngsters are tested at the earliest opportunity, which is something he stressed to youth team coach Ciaran Donnelly.

He said: “It’s something I massively believe in. I did it as a youth coach at Blackburn to get the lads out and I did the same when I was the reserve manager.

“To get them men’s football in the real world, away from these tippy-tappy U23 games, is so important.

“They’re going to get tested and stretched and they’re going to learn so much about themselves being in that environment.

“It’s great learning for them and we’re really excited about it. Hopefully I can go to Marine and watch them as well.

“We’re really excited about the prospect of them going out on loan and hopefully a few more will follow.”
