It is a change of approach from Bowyer, who had previously gone on record in stressing the need for Blackpool to bring bodies in.

He has made no secret of his desire to strengthen his forward options, with his first-choice strikers Kyle Vassell and Mark Cullen no closer to returning from injury.

When asked if he’s had a busy week since the window opened, Bowyer said: “It’s funny, the window opened on Monday and obviously we had a game so I didn’t have one phone call from an agent.

“January 2 came and we gave the players a day off, so I thought I’d take the day off as well, and my phone never stopped ringing.

“So the window is what it is. For us, the most important thing in this window for me is to keep everybody.

“Obviously there are certain areas I’d like to add to but we’ll have to wait and see on that.”

Curtis Tilt is one man sure to attract plenty of admirers but Bowyer insists he isn’t the only one likely to be targeted.

“It’s not just Curtis,” he added. “You go through the whole team, the performances of the players throughout have been very good in my opinion.

“But we’ve got lots of players here that can play higher. The window should just be a week really, that would be better for everybody.”
