The Seasiders’ dire 2-0 defeat to AFC Wimbledon last weekend means they are now just three points ahead of the League One dropzone.

Since beating Peterborough United 1-0 in November, Bowyer’s side have picked up just one win from their 12 league games.

Blackpool go in search of their first win at home since October when they face Charlton Athletic at Bloomfield Road this weekend, and Bowyer is well aware his side must improve.

“Everybody in the league is trying to win as many points as possible,” he said.

“Of course you have to be concerned but we know that within that dressing room, with the performances we’ve had this season, we’re better than what we showed against AFC Wimbledon.

“We’ve got to make sure we show that next week.

“You’ve got 17 games left now and the value of them is all the same. There’s three points on offer for all of them.

“The fans have been happy with what they’ve seen from previous games but that’s the season isn’t it? It doesn’t hinge on one game or one performance.”
