Over 200 students turned up and BBC North West Tonight also made a special visit, and AllStars was happy to be invited along too.

Manager Gary Bowyer was delighted to “give back” to the local community.

He said: “It’s been a fantastic day at South Shore. Blackpool FC Community Trust do a brilliant job catering for people of all ages.

“This Action Day event has given Andy and myself the opportunity to give back and let the students know about how to get involved with Blackpool FC Community Trust.”

Skipper Taylor, who is the Trust’s Education Ambassador, believes the event was a great opportunity to let the students know about the importance of education.

He said: “I’ve always taken my education seriously, even though I’m fortunate to play football for a living.

“ I did biology at A Level and it’s been drilled into me from an early age to take education very seriously.

“The Trust delivers a fantastic BTEC programme, involving Football Studies or Coaching Studies. I urge any school leavers to look into it.”
