The midfielder played the full 90 minutes for the Seasiders in their opening day draw at Wycombe Wanderers last Saturday.

Not only was it the 25-year-old’s competitive debut for Blackpool, but it was also the first time he has played in the EFL having joined from non-league side Maidenhead United during the summer.

“As my first Blackpool game I was really proud to put that tangerine shirt on,” Pritchard said.

“I’m very happy making my first-team debut in the Football League and I thought I did well.

“I thought I worked hard which is a big part of my game. Now I’ll just look to improve every single game.”

The location for his first appearance proved to be ideal, given his roots in the area and from previously playing with Maidenhead – a club located just 11 miles away.

“It was good to get the family down,” he added.

“When the fixtures came out it was a shock to get Wycombe away first game of the season. I was more than happy with that.

“My family came down to support and we had a good following from the Blackpool fans too.

“To see so many fans turn up at Wycombe, which is a long journey, is great. So I’m buzzing.”

The Seasiders were left satisfied with their efforts at Wycombe in a game played in blistering heat.

Blackpool opened their points tally for the season with a solid display at Adams Park, surviving an onslaught of long balls from the home side.
