The pair, both defenders and regular starters for Blackpool's youth team, will look to benefit from first-team professional football with the Evo Stik Northern Premier side.

Youth team coach Ciaran Donnelly hopes the moves will enhance their education away from the youth setup.

He said: "We talked recently as a club, between the manager, chairman and myself, about what our plans are for our young players and we wanted the ones doing well to be tested in men's football when they get to the right age.

"Caleb and Denzel have been presented with an opportunity to go and play in the Northern Premier League and the standard is certainly going to teach them a lot about the game that they wouldn't learn at youth level.

"That's not to say that youth football doesn't give them lots of opportunities to learn the game, but this will be a tougher experience where they will have to show a lot of character and resolve. We wouldn't send them if we didn't think they could handle it. We're looking forward to seeing how they do at Marine."

For Donnelly, whose side sit second in the North West Youth Alliance table, it means a period of fixtures without two key performers, yet Donnelly says the overall aim of developing young players has to come first.

He added: "What we're looking for is players getting in the first-team, not necessarily a youth team winning league titles. We try and do as well as we can with our youth team in the league to be successful, but the bigger picture is that we want players in our first-team, and to make it as professional footballers."
