It wasn’t just the Pool players who were on the end of a Paul Ince ear-bashing last night.

The Blackpool boss felt John Lundstram’s winning goal was “three or four yards” offside.

“Once again incompetent officiating let us down,” he slammed. “The linesman has to help out the referee.

“When it’s close you can understand but when it’s three or four yards off you just can’t. You wonder why I lose my head.”

Despite cutting his post-match media commitments short, Ince did manage to talk about the game. “We had enough chances. We just weren’t clinical enough,” he said.

“At half-time I told them not to get anxious and to keep going the way they were.

“We started panicking a little and changed the way we played. That’s not us. We ended up in a situation where we lost our heads.

“We had some very good clear-cut chances, probably more than we’ve had since I’ve been here. But if you don’t hit the target you don’t score.

“It was a crazy night and it could have been so different. We started the game well and had control. We looked like we were going to score at any minute.

“Their goal was four yards offside. It’s clear on the video. I’ve seen it three or four times. The lad who’s miles offside comes back into play and scores the goal.”
