BLACKPOOL began their pre-season with a win over Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground.
Goals from Kevin Phillips and Scott Robertson were the difference as the Seasiders faced former Pool favourite Andy Morrell’s Conference side.
Blackpool took the lead on 15 minutes when Phillips burried a penalty after being fouled by Wrexham’s Neil Ashton.
The home side drew level when Martin Riley headed a corner past Matt Gilks from five yards.
But Scottish midfielder Robertson won it for Pool when he followed up a Ludo Sylvestre effort to score from six yards.
Blackpool made eight changes at the break and the quality showed.
Matt Phillips and Tom Barkhuizen were a constant threat for the Seasiders, both having a number of decent efforts on goal.
Each of Ian Holloway’s senior squad played 45 minutes as they build-up to next month’s season opener against Millwall.
Robertson, who signed from Dundee United in midweek, Isiah Osbourne and the impressive Tiago Gomes all made their debuts
Pool boss Ian Holloway missed the game due to having to attend a family wedding.
