IF Lomana LuaLua gets a bit of grief when he touches the ball tomorrow, there is a reason.
Last time he faced Southampton he scored two goals and condemned the Saints to relegation.
LuaLua was in the Portsmouth side which not only beat their local rivals 4-1 but sent them tumbling out of the Premier League in the process. Ouch.
“I don’t know how good the memories of their fans are but I think I might be in for a bit of stick,” admitted the 30-year-old.
“I remember that last time I played them. It was a bad day for them because of what the result meant. It sent them down.
“But I’ve been very impressed with how they have done this year and they have had some great results, especially at home. They look a very strong team, so Southampton will be a good test but we are certainly not scared. Everyone in football is beatable.”
LuaLua starts his sixth game for the Seasiders tomorrow, aiming to score his first goals since the brace he grabbed on debut at Leeds.
