Blackpool defender rues Seasiders' slow start at Plymouth Argyle

The Seasiders have been one of the most active clubs in the transfer market this summer, making 11 signings to date and moving on a further 17.

A centre-back and a right-back are likely to be at the top of Blackpool’s shopping list but, with the window not closing until October 16, Critchley admits he’s willing to take his time.

When asked if Pool fans can expect any further signings before Saturday’s game against Swindon Town, Critchley told The Gazette: “I’m going to give you the same answer I’ve given you in the last two or three weeks!

“We’re working, we’re still looking but we have to be patient. The domestic window stays open until October 16 so we still have a month left.

“I think we’ve done some really good business so far and we don’t want to rush into something where we feel as though we’ve made a mistake.

“We have to do what we feel is going to be right for this season and the long-term and I think we’ve done that so far.”
