It’s the time of the year our attentions turn to rewarding Blackpool’s outstanding player of the season.

It’s the time of the year our attentions turn to rewarding Blackpool’s outstanding player of the season.

Last year it was Matt Gilks who picked up our award, beating competition from Ricardo Fuller and Barry Ferguson after thousands of votes were cast.

After what has been one of the worst seasons ever, we have decided to change things slightly, and instead give you the chance to vote for your favourite YOUNG player of the season.

Here’s this year’s shortlist, chose from one of the following:

Henry Cameron

Age 17

Appearances 10 starts

Goals 1

Cameron has been the youth teamer to feature most regularly in Blackpool’s starting eleven this season, making 10 appearances.

The winger has committed himself to the club for next season after signing an 18 month deal.

He scored his only goal so far away at Ipswich earlier this month.

Dominic Telford

Age 18

Appearances 14 (8 starts)

Goals 1

Telford was handed his debut on the opening day against Nottingham Forest but had to wait until December for his second outing.

He made the headlines by scoring on his home debut against Rotherham in December, earning Pool a point.

Telford is yet to commit his long-term future to the club, with Stoke City linked with a bid.

Bright Samuel

Age 17

Appearances 6 (1 start)

Samuel has been the most recently to break through after catching the eye with his direct and skillfull style on the wing.

He made his first start for the club in the defeat against Cardiff at the weekend and is considered one to watch for the future.

Mark Waddington

Age 18

Appearances 3 (1 start)

Waddington’s luck has been out this season but he’s one of the hottest prospects in years to come out of Bloomfield Road.

A industrious midfielder, Waddington won man of the match against Premier League side Aston Villa on his debut in the FA Cup.

Sadly a broken foot means he’s missed the last eight weeks of the season.

To cast your vote email the name of your chosen player to william.watt@blackpoolgazette.co.uk with the subject YOUNG PLAYER.

One vote per person will be counted, vote closes at 4pm on Thursday and will be announced next week.
