BLACKPOOL boss Ian Holloway has played down reports linking the club with a move for Motherwell striker Jamie Murphy.
A number of national papers claimed the Seasiders were set to make a deadline day swoop for the star.
However Holloway said: “Our inquiry was totally knocked back earlier this month and we haven’t gone back in for him.
“So that deal won’t happen as far as I’m concerned.
“The transfer window isn’t as big an issue for us this season.
“Last season, it slammed shut for us at the end of January and that was that. But in the Championship we have the option of emergency loans and we can loan someone for up to 93 days.”
Meanwhile, Billy Clarke has been linked with Crawley, whose striker Tyrone Barnett is wanted by Blackpool.
