GARY Taylor-Fletcher says he is staggered Ian Holloway hasn’t been targeted by a top club.

The Seasiders boss has been linked with several management roles – albeit mainly by the media – but Pool haven’t received a single approach.

Taylor-Fletcher is delighted about that, but he thinks it is a big insult considering what Holloway has achieved in three remarkable seasons at Bloomfield Road.

The striker said: “I think it is absolutely scandalous that he hasn’t been approached for any jobs.

“When you consider the job he has done with us over the last few years, on the budget we have had, you are left wondering why these other chairman aren’t thinking, ‘Well, what could he achieve on our budget?’

“He has worked absolute wonders.

“From a selfish point of view, and from the club’s point of view, then obviously I’m glad he hasn’t been approached.

“It would have been a massive loss had he gone.

“Some people just fit at certain clubs and I think Blackpool and the gaffer are an incredibly good fit.

“He might just have looked at it and thought, ‘These jobs aren’t coming for me’, or he might even have thought, ‘I don’t want these jobs’, especially when he considers the team he has at Blackpool and what he has built.

“If he can replicate what he did last year, but take that next step and go up again, then surely someone will be after him.

“At the moment, I’m amazed some clubs at the top of the Championship and the lower end of the Premier League aren’t seriously looking at him.

“But if he got us up again, then you’d be wondering why every club in the Premier League, even the bigger ones, weren’t considering him.”
