Blackpool’s legend eventually beat Burnley 3-2 on a beatufil afternoon at Thorton Cleveleys FC.

Andy Morrell, Paul Haddow and former England international Trevor Sinclair were on the score sheet at the event which was attended by 60 former stars.

Organiser John Cross said: “It was a top, top day and one which really warmed the heart.

“For so many former players to make the effort was brilliant.

“Mickey Walsh flew in from Portugal for the afternoon which just sums up the effort people made.

“It was great to see the quality on show in the game, with Trevor Sinclair looking like he could still do a job in Blackpool’s first team now.”

More than £2,300 was raised from bucket collections on the day, although a total figure won’t be finalised until the proceeds of the raffle and a PFA donation are confirmed.
