Joe Lewis is a major doubt for tomorrow’s game after a sickness bug hit Blackpool’s squad.
The goalkeeper didn’t travel with the squad yesterday and therefore missed training in Norfolk this morning.
It’s hoped the on-loan Cardiff man will be fit enough to travel to Norwich alone today, although he is now a major doubt for tomorrow’s game.
“There’s been a bug going around, five or six players have had it – it seems to be lingering around,” revealed boss Lee Clark.
“Joe Lewis has caught a bit of that and we don’t want him on the bus travelling for six hours with the lads.
“We are hoping to get him down there separately as we don’t want him spreading whatever he has to the rest of the squad.”
The illness comes as another blow to Lewis who has recently lost his place in the side to Elliot Parish.
The Gazette revealed a clause means Pool would have to pay £40,000 should Lewis make four more appearances at Bloomfield Road, with boss Clark refusing report that is behind his axe.
Clark’s side made the long trip to Norfolk 24 hours earlier than normal yesterday, to allow them to train this morning and get over the journey.
The manager explained: “It’s doing the right things and preparing in the right way.
“It helps getting the players tuned in quickly and early in the week..
“Doing it this way allows us to focus fully on the weekend’s game.”
