Donervon Daniels has been backed to learn from the error which led to Pool’s defeat against Brentford on Tuesday.
The otherwise excellent defender hesitated in the box, allowing midfielder Stuart Dallas to fire a second-half winner and condemn Pool to their third straight Championship defeat.
But the West Brom loanee, who has impressed on his three Pool appearances, has been tipped to bounce back by manager Jose Riga.
The Pool boss said: “The second goal was a mistake by a young player.I’m sure he will learn from this and improve. It was a mistake from an inexperienced player, that’s all.
“How can I criticise a young player who did well in the whole game and made one mistake? If we’d scored again it wouldn’t have mattered.”
Blackpool are already looking to extend the 20-year-old’s loan deal from West Brom, which is due to end following the trip to Millwall on Saturday week.
And Riga certainly won’t be judging him on Tuesday’s error.
He added: “I don’t look at that one mistake. I look at his whole display and I was pleased with his performance.
“Even the most experiences players make mistakes and the most important thing for him is to learn from his. ”
