Recently released Blackpool man rejoins National League newcomers on permanent deal

The National League newcomers have moved quickly to snap up the 25-year-old following their recent play-off success against Boston United.

Ceesay, who has previously spent two loan spells with the Robins, was released by the Seasiders at the end of last season having failed to make a single competitive appearance during his two seasons with the club.

“Ceesay’s searing pace made him a huge hit with Alty fans during two loan spells from Blackpool and Parkinson was quick to secure him for the Robins’ return to the Vanarama National League next season after being alerted to his availability,” Altrincham said in a statement.

“Ceesay scored three goals in 13 appearances in an eye-catching initial loan, but a recurrence of hamstring trouble in last September’s 5-0 home win against Leamington cut short his second spell at Moss Lane.”

The Seasiders signed Ceesay in September 2018 after he impressed on trial during the summer.

Ceesay had trained with Blackpool during pre-season and set up Mark Cullen’s goal in the 2-1 friendly win at Nantwich Town.

The pacey forward had impressed for Alvechurch the previous season as he helped them win promotion from the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division One South.

He subsequently signed a two-year contract with the Seasiders with the option of a further 12 months.

However, following his lack of game time, the club opted against taking up the option, freeing him up to rejoin the Robins.

Ceesay has also spent time on loan at Boston United, AFC Telford, Nuneaton Borough and his former club Alvechurch.
