Premier League opponents for Blackpool and Fleetwood Town in EFL Trophy

Blackpool will face a team representing Premier League newcomers Leeds United in the EFL Trophy, while Fleetwood Town's group will include Aston Villa.

Carabao Cup first round draw

The draw for the group stage was completed today, when an under-21 team from a Premier League club was added to each of the eight northern groups.

The Seasiders will face Leeds as well as League One rivals Accrington Stanley and today's friendly opponents Barrow in group G.

Villa join Town in Group A, alongside Carlisle United and Sunderland.

Fixture details are yet to be finalised, though the opening group games are set to take place during the week before the League season kicks-off on September 12.

Northern Group A: Carlisle United, Fleetwood Town, Sunderland, Aston Villa

Group B: Morecambe, Rochdale, Salford City, Manchester United.

Group D: Port Vale, Tranmere Rovers, Wigan Athletic, Liverpool

Group F: Bradford City, Doncaster Rovers, Oldham Athletic, Wolves
